Nature Communicates

The palm tree near the corner of our backyard (but thankfully IN our neighbor's yard) has been growing and hitting the telephone and cable wires. Our next door neighbor and his family are flawlessly vigilant about keepiing up their home and garden. We are lucky to have nice, neat, quiet and helpful neighbors. The other day a fancy tree doctor appeared over our garage with his chainsaw and started buzzing away at the very old and picturesque palm tree.

We are sad to see the tree go. The palm had provided a lovely, vintage backdrop for many photos of parties in our yard. However, once the palm fronds start messing with our phone and cable connections, we are not happy people.

Forlorn Fronds

Now, if we could only get rid of the results of squirrel chew on the cable at the other corner of our yard! Who knew we could experience so much nature in the middle of the big City!

RIP palm tree.

I know about so much nature. Possums, lizards, skunks, raccoons, squirrels, hawks, coyotes - it's hopping around our neighborhood, esp. once the sun goes down. By the way, that squirrel article was amazing. Who knew there was such a squirrel hazard? And what did they do to your cable?

Can we trade neighbors? I'd rather live next door to DA Devalos than the jerks who STILL have not taken down the Christmas directions.

My idle threat of egg festooning did nothing to spur them into action.

Listening to the patter of little feet over my head means there are squirrels in my attic. Probably feasting on the remnants of the beehive that are still up there. I don't so much have wildlife AROUND my house as IN my house. At least the possums haven't found the doorway in. Yet.
