Jax in the City

It's Jacaranda time in Los Angeles. So many of our streets are filled with beautiful purple and lilac trees!

Fairfax Ave. between 18th St. and Venice Blvd.

Even though, once the blossoms fall on our cars it's a sticky mess, I do love this time of year. Are there Jacaranda trees on your street?

Hi Ellen,

I just came across your blog and wanted to say thanks for sharing some of your stories! I caught one of your posts about Pinterest; I just found out about that site a couple days ago myself and am hooked! I can't seem to find time to do anything else haha.

I’d also like to ask you about advertising on your website. I work for a company called Autofusion, which handles internet marketing for several car dealers. We have a client that would be interested in advertising on your site so any information you can provide me would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again and I hope to hear from you soon.

Sadly, no, I have palm trees in front of my house, but when I was a kid in Compton, we had a HUGE jacaranda tree in the backyard. I remember making dolls with the branches and the purple flowers...

Definitely no Jacarandas 'round here! Bit the lilacs are in bloom and so fragrant! Next up, roses everywhere, and peonies.
